We have been awarded the Royal Society for the Prevention Accidents (RoSPA) Order of Distinction again for achieving the society’s Gold Award for Health and Safety. This is the 21st consecutive year that our organisation has been awarded gold, reflecting our consistent commitment to upholding employee safety.

We’ve won the RoSPA Order of Distinction (21 consecutive Golds) Award in the Achievement category, demonstrating our dedication to ensuring that our staff, contractors and clients get home safely at the end of every working day.

The esteemed RoSPA Awards program celebrates its 68th year as the UK’s largest and most impactful health and safety programme. With almost 2,000 entries annually from over 50 countries, impacting over seven million employees, they offer a platform to spotlight an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in health and safety.

Earning the prestigious Gold Award demands an unwavering commitment to occupational health and safety practices. Recipients must exhibit a meticulous approach with stringent adherence to control measures as well as remarkably low rates of errors, incidents, and associated costs. Attaining this recognition requires an impeccable record with no major injuries attributable to employer negligence. The Order of Distinction is awarded to organisations that have maintained the Gold Award standard for an impressive streak of 15 consecutive years or more.

Lyndsey Wicks, Health and Safety Manager, commented: “This “Order of Distinction” Gold Award is another testament to the unwavering dedication and collaborative efforts of our entire team in fostering a secure and safe work environment. To have our proactive approach and outstanding results acknowledged by the esteemed RoSPA for an impressive two decades consecutively is a truly remarkable achievement that fills us with immense gratitude and honour."

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, said: "Workplace accidents don't just pose financial risks and operational disruptions; they significantly impact the quality of life for individuals. This is why acknowledging and rewarding excellent safety performance is vital.

“We congratulate VWS UK Ltd for winning a prestigious RoSPA Award and showing an unwavering commitment to keeping employees, clients and customers safe from accidental harm and injury.”

Sponsored by Croner-i, the RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest-running of its kind in the UK, and receives entries from organisations across the globe, making it one of the most sought-after achievement awards for the health and safety industry.

Ben Chaplain, Managing Director at Croner-i, said:

"We are proud to sponsor the RoSPA Awards for a second year, which emphasises our dedication to prioritising health and safety—an essential foundation for lasting success and wellbeing at work.”
