Veolia Water Solutions UK Ltd. (VWS UK Ltd.) has been awarded the Royal Society for the Prevention Accidents (RoSPA) Order of Distinction again for achieving the society’s Gold Award for Health and Safety. This is the 20th consecutive year that the organisation has been awarded gold and reflects our consistent commitment to upholding employee safety.
The RoSPA Health and Safety awards are internationally recognised, receiving almost 2,000 entries every year from nearly 50 countries, reaching over 7 million employees. The majority of the awards - such as the one won by VWS UK Ltd. - are non-competitive, aiming to promote consistent commitment to high standards of health and safety over one-off achievements.
To achieve a Gold Award, entrants must demonstrate a rigorous approach to occupational health and safety, high levels of compliance with control measures and low rates of error, harm and accident or ill health costs. Success depends on having no major injuries due to employer negligence and no notices or prosecutions made against them. The Order of Distinction is awarded to entrants that have won the Gold Award for 15 or more consecutive years.
Lyndsey Wicks, Health and Safety Manager, commented: “We are incredibly proud to receive this Gold Award in recognition of the collective hard work and commitment of all our colleagues in making VWS UK Ltd. a safe place to work. To have our proactive approach and results recognised by RoSPA, for the twentieth year in a row is something really special.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, said: “Accidents at work and work-related ill health can significantly impact an individual’s quality of life, as well as cause major disruption and financial implications. “We are thrilled that VWS UK Ltd. has won a RoSPA Award and would like to congratulate the organisation on showing an unwavering commitment to keeping employees, clients and customers safe from accidental harm and injury.”
